Easy as pie Scrip Reviewed by DGEC, 2006-11-14 I started using WB about a year or so ago. Made a site for a pharmacy, am making one for myself and will be converting one for a church from an existing HTML site to WB. When I saw the administrator user interface, I said "Wow! Really easy to understand!" The pharamacy already had a CMS type of system but couldn't make heads or tails of it. The users wanted to be able to edit it easily, with WYSIWYG content. I showed them WB and they said "Wow! really easy to understand! I want it." You can easily take an existing design, or make a design in HTML, then just plug in the content areas with simple includes or variables. There's a good and growing number of existing templates and modules, and a lot of friendly people to help. It comes with built-in security and member groups and securable pages. You can let only members view pages, allow certain users to edit only "their" pages, one-click backup, etc, etc. A lot of complexity is still available for those that want it, using an "Advanced" tab setting. A new, advanced menu with flyouts, etc is available too. Calendars, blogs, galleries, multiple themes, it's all there; you can even wrap the site around other applications. The one thing lacking is a full-scale eshop, but there are simple ones, and you can wrap it. It might not look quite as "powerful" to geeks as some of the other CMSs, but its perfectly suited for what your average website owner/user wants - simple, non-intimidating and nice-looking. If you want a CMS that USERS can manage, this is it - trust me. |
