The Front Page module allows user to specify splash pages or front
pages to their site that are different in layout to the default
theme/style and also offers the option to display different front pages
to Authenticated Users (logged in) and Anonymous users (not logged in).
It is very simple to install, no SQL fiddling required and step by step
instructions are provided in the README.TXT file in the download.
example application
Using a music site as an illustrative example; it's quite common for
bands and record labels to have a high impact splash page promoting a
new album or tour, often containing flash or a splash image and nothing
else, for when visitors land on their website.
The front_page.module allows you to manage full page/flash splash
pages efficiently and simply with the added bonus of redirecting HOME
links from within your site to a different page. So users aren't always
redirected back to the splash page each time they click on a HOME link.
Added control options include presenting a different home page to
Logged in (Authenticated Users) and users not logged in (Anonymous
Users).
